Article, essay:

THE PLUMB BOBS OF PAUL GUSTAV LEISTNER + JOSEPH OSCAR HEIMBACH

                                The German Art of Metalwork
St. Louis and St. Charles Missouri

By Nelson Denny and Mike Urness

For those who know and have admired the plumb bobs of LEISTNER and
HEIMBACH, this essay was originally published in two parts in "THE GRISTMILL",
a publication of the MID-WEST TOOL COLLECTOR'S ASSOCIATION
(Dec. 2008 No. 133 & March 2009 No. 134)
This download, fully illustrated in color, is worth a second look for "Gristmill" subscribers or for neophytes who might appreciate 19th Century German craftmanship in the era of American millwright plumb bobs.

The authors:
Nelson Denny is an Architect from Hadlyme, Connecticut. Needless to say, he collects plumb bobs.
Mike Urness is a tool dealer & patent researcher from Chesterfield, Missouri. His research uncovered some of the essential material from St. Louis and St. Charles

Some visitors of this web site  may have HEIMBACH and Leistner artifacts.
We would be greatly interested in details about those items.
